With the growth of “self-service” shopping, a corrugated package labeled with highest quality litho graphics was ideal for an environment in which the package instead of a salesclerk would do the selling. Automatän developed a high-speed litho label laminator for corrugated boxmakers to add value to strong, plain corrugated boxes easily and economically.
Supplying hundreds of litho labelers has moved Automatän into a leadership role in sheet-to-sheet laminating equipment. In addition to our premier labelers, we offer high-production singleface laminators, especially popular for the growing small-flute litho-laminated market, and pattern laminators for specialty game and puzzle markets.
It is Automatän’s aim to improve packaging graphics. Recognizing the importance of pH in flexo printing, Automatän offers its Inkontrol system for control of flexo ink pH and viscosity to give flexo printers the assurance of automatic and precision control of these ink variables.
It is also Automatän’s goal to improve efficiency in graphics. We build load turners and jogger/aerators for small commercial printing formats up to large board and corrugated formats. Cleaning sheets as well as aligning them improves runnability, and automating handling of heavy loads addresses ergonomic concerns.
As the much of the world is now following the "one-stop-shopping" concept introduced by large discount centers and warehouse-style club stores, the growth of these markets for corrugated and the need for graphics-related equipment will continue. Automatän is committed to its leadership role in developing and supplying leading technology equipment as these trends continue around the world.
Most recently Automatän has added robotics to their product line to provide customers with solutions that will increase efficiencies and decrease manual labor. The robots are designed to feed the front end of all types of corrugated machinery as well as load forming off the back end and allow for a quick ROI.
Automatän knows that successful installation, training, and support are critical to your operation and achieving the profitability gains you target. This drives our commitment to your success.
Skill, pride, experience, and dedication make the Automatän Service group a winning team committed to personalizing customer needs.
When a machine is ordered, the decision is made at the start who will be on-site for installation and training. The technician who takes the assignment then becomes the lead assembler in the production of the machine. This helps to assure a successful startup because the machine is in the hands of a technician with a vested interest in it from the time it has your name on it.
Parts, service, and support are handled directly through the Automatän technical support group.
Founded in 1976, Automatän began in the paper-productive state of Wisconsin, USA as a company with a vision of special markets for corrugated products. Kevin Widder, a 21-year veteran to the industry, joined with Lakeview Equity Partners LLC, and acquired the company in the fall of 2006. Since the acquisition, the company has continued to supply exceptional, high quality machinery worldwide while adding new products and services to its portfolio.
Automatän’s mission is to continue to be recognized as the innovative leader with the highest quality machinery in the industry through exceptional customer service, sales, engineering and leadership, while ensuring a return on investment to all Automatän customers.
